We all know how hot Arizona summers can be -- so here are some tips to fight the heat with!
1. Shiver Those Sheets
It may sound weird, but if you want to beat the heat quick, just toss your blankets and throws in the freezer. Take them out, and you have an instant chill casing to wrap yourself in.
2. Try Some Water
It may be hot and sticky, but taking a bath or shower can help cool you down. Even hot showers or baths could help!
3.You’ll Be a Fan of This Tip
If you haven’t done this already, this is probably the best place to start: Get a fan for your bedroom. The more fans and airflow in your living space, the better.
4. Ice Up That Fan
If a fan doesn’t cut it by itself, there’s an easy trick to get the most cooling for your fan: Place a bowl of ice in front of it. Presto -- instant fresh, cold air!
5. Ice Up Yourself
Is your fan not helping enough? Are you still struggling to sleep in a swamp of sweat? It’s time to try icing a little more directly. Get some ice packs and place them on pulse points such as your wrists and ankles.
6. Shut the Stove Off
Adding extra heat into your home during the summer is a recipe for disaster. Eat out if you have too, or at least limit the time you spend cooking.
7. Try Lowering the Humidity
What’s the difference between an Arizona summer and one in Florida? We all know that dry heat feels better, but you’d be surprised how much a dehumidifier can help in your room, even if we aren’t living in swamp land.
8. Upgrade Your Mattress
The problem might not be just with the weather -- it could also be your mattress. Come by Spencers and we’ll help you find the best type of mattress to limit your nighttime heat!
9. Use the Right Sheets
It’s summer for crying out loud -- polyester, flannel, and wool sheet are only going to trap heat. Go for something breathable like linen or cotton and your sleeping will be all the cooler for it.
10. Try Sleeping Solo
If all else fails, you and your partner can try sleeping in different beds. It may be more lonely, but it will be cooler!
Phew -- there’s nothing worse than struggling to sleep when it’s hot out. Hopefully these tips will cool things down for you a bit and make sawing that wood a little easier. Happy sleeping, from all of us here at Spencers!
