10 Easy to Make Back-to-School Meals

by Ronald Elias

Freezer meals, dump meals, crockpot meals -- check! Let’s get eating!

1. Chicken Curry

We’re huge fans of curry over here, and this dish is easy enough to put together -- and can be eaten right away or frozen to slow cook later. And with an 8 hour cooking time, it’s perfect to start in the morning and have it waiting for the whole family after school.

2. Pizza Soup

Yup, you read that right! And nope, this recipe does not involve taking a pizza and running it through a blender and drinking it with a straw. Instead it reimagines the idea of pizza in a crock pot recipe totally worth checking out.

3. Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Wings are great and all, but sometimes you just want that same flavor and taste without getting your fingers sticky and having to work for it. Enter buffalo chicken sliders -- all the fun and the flavor, no bone bowl necessary.

4. Meatloaf and Baked Potatoes

Some people will do anything for love, but for those of you who would do anything for meatloaf, have we got the recipe for you. If this isn’t paradise, then we don’t know what is.

5. Chicken Alfredo

If you’re feeling like a little Italian for dinner tonight, might we suggest some chicken alfredo? This recipe even makes enough servings for the whole family!

6. Macaroni and Cheese

Sorry Kraft, we’ll have mac and cheese out of a slow cooker any day of the week. Forget that little blue box and “instant” macaroni -- instead make a huge helping of mac and cheese fresh out of the pot that everybody can enjoy as soon as they get home from a long day of school (and work, of course).

7. Tater Tot Egg Bake

There’s nothing like coming home after a long day of hitting the books and having some brinner. Yeah, we’re talking about the holy grail that is breakfast for dinner -- and this bacon, egg, cheese, and tater tots bake really knows how to hit the spot.

8. Bacon Cheeseburgers

Whoever said you couldn’t do burgers in a crockpot clearly hasn’t tried this recipe for bacon cheeseburgers. And, with a short cook time, this even works as a last minute meal prep option -- and of course, who doesn’t love adding bacon to dinner?

9. French Dip Sandwich

We’ve already taken a stop off at Italy, so now let’s take a second and dip off into France for a roast beef French Dip sandwich. As fun to make as it is to eat, this is another one that the family is sure to love.

10. Slow Cooker Dump Death by Chocolate Cake

The ease of dump meals, the deliciousness of chocolate: This recipe won’t kill you, but it is absolutely to die for.

We get it -- the school season is busy, and we hope that these meals help you get a jump start on cooking and make your evenings easier.
