Top Load Washer
Top load washers are the most common type of washing machine. Most use an agitator and water to wash your fabrics. If you don’t want to bend over to get your clothes out of the washer, a top load is the way to go. Keep in mind, with a top-load washer, you’ll need to measure the space above where you want the unit to go. The door swings up, so no cabinets or shelves should be in the way.
Front Load Washer
Front load washers take the agitator out of the mix by replacing it with an impeller, and they use significantly less water during the washing process. Instead of relying on an agitator, these washers use an impeller and gravity to tumble your fabrics against each other to remove stains. While you will need to bend over a little bit more to retrieve your clothes, you can add a pedestal to gain some height and comfort.
