  4. Where Can I Buy a Beautyrest Mattress?

If our most recent blogs aren’t enough of a proclamation, your friends in the business at Spencer’s TV & Appliance profess our love for Beautyrest mattresses. And as we’ve touted these mattresses’ reliable support and luxurious feel, it begs the question: How does Beautyrest stand up to the competition?

In our latest installment, we’re taking a look at how Beautyrest mattresses compare to Sealy and Serta collections. From respective price range to available mattress types to warranty options, we’ve got the lowdown on the most in-demand features for the best night’s sleep.

To give you a brief glimpse into each mattress brand we are discussing in our “Sealy vs Serta vs Beautyrest” breakdown, Sealy is considered the most budget-friendly selection of the trio with additional orthopedic support for your back, muscles, and joints. Serta is a great middle-of-the-road option with a wide selection of quality mattresses that boast nice-to-have features beyond the essentials. Finally, Beautyrest caters to sleepers who yearn for a luxurious experience and who may not necessarily have serious orthopedic requirements.

Sealy vs Beautyrest Mattresses

Our first matchup is Sealy vs Beautyrest.

One of the leading names in the industry, Sealy has been in the mattress game since 1881, gaining the well-deserved confidence of millions of Americans ever since. With a proprietary technology called “Posturepedic,” it is quickly evident that Sealy caters to sleepers that may require orthopedic support to keep their spines aligned without leading to sore joints. People who suffer from aching bones, muscle pain, arthritic joints, and other chronic pain that leads to sleepless nights may take special interest in a mattress from this brand.

The Sealy mattress range includes the online-exclusive Cocoon collection, which contains premium-grade memory foam mattresses; the Response lines, which are comprised of innerspring mattresses for the traditionalists at heart; the Conform lines that feature multi-layer foam and gel mattresses; and the Hybrid lines that, of course, tout mattresses that fuse materials from innerspring and memory foam mattresses.

Beautyrest, on the other hand, has made a name for itself in the luxury market. Whereas Sealy advertises mattresses for better spinal support, Beautyrest largely emphasizes comfortability—after all, what is luxury if not a state of great comfort? As such, Sealy mattresses are comparatively affordable.

Other differences include the fact that Sealy offers traditional innerspring options whereas Beautyrest largely does not; moreover, product reviewers assert that Sealy mattresses accommodate all sleep positions while Beautyrest mattresses are considered ideal for back and side sleepers specifically.

But to be fair, while Sealy mattresses may seem more universally accommodating, Beautyrest makes up for it via innovative construction. Beautyrest’s heftier price tag may be explained by the higher-grade materials used to elevate your sleep experience: pocketed coil technology, cool-to-the-touch fabric surfaces, and higher-quality memory foam. Plus, with Beautyrest, you have the option to upgrade to add extra memory foam and cooling carbon-fiber layers, for greater comfort and sweatless nights.

Serta vs Beautyrest Mattresses

Now, we’re onto Serta vs Beautyrest.

We previously described Serta as a great middle-of-the-road option, and we couldn’t think of a more apt description. If we contemplate these three brands in terms of a spectrum, Sealy and Beautyrest sit on opposite ends for their market positions (i.e., mass-premium vs luxury). And Serta is considered the median, with a best-value selection of well-made mattresses and a greater diversity of options, including bed-in-a-box and hotel-bed collections. As such, choosing a mattress from Serta’s collections is easy.

Product reviewers grade Serta highly when it comes to customer service (i.e., efficient delivery, good warranties, and generous trial periods) and their great range of products; however, the brand falters slightly when it comes to mattress durability, as some consumers have reported problems in the long run. But of course, the 10-year warranty should be enough to address most immediate issues.

By contrast, Beautyrest may have shorter warranties and trial periods on select products—but again, the brand makes up for their more conservative policies in other ways. Whereas Serta only sells mattresses in comfort levels ranging from plush to firm, Beautyrest offers ultra-plush and ultra-firm options as well, which bodes well for sleepers who may require “a little more” or “a little less” cushioning to treat symptoms from sleep disorders or to support a body weight that is greater than 230 pounds.
