Leak in the coolant system

We bought this fridge 6.5 yrs ago and have had various small problems (squeaky door hinges, doors not sealing shut, led lights stop working) since the beginning until about a month ago when the freezer stopped working followed by the fridge a week later. The diagnosis is a leak in the coolant system and we have been told that this part is not replaceable and our fridge is totaled. The coolant sys...

How do you spend so much $ & no egg or butter tray

I just had my Kitchen Aid black stainless built in refrigerator excitedly delivered. It does look beautiful. But for the price, Kitchen aid should include a butter tray, egg tray and freezer racks. The paperwork should include what trays come with the refrigerator, no where in the paperwork or website does it list parts included. The pictures make it seem like all the trays included. See picture.

New fridge better than side by side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The space in the refrigeration is great. I do wish there was a butter compartment. The door squeaks and the repairman said he was not authorized to spray with silicone.the freezer is kind of dark and smaller than I expected. The drawer space is good in the refrigerator.

NOT INTEGRATED FRIDGE Very Misleading Description

Despite the highly misleading description on their website ("this built-in stainless steel French door refrigerator will seamlessly integrate with your cabinetry"), this fridge is NOT built to allow the panels to integrate with your cabinets. I genuinely do not understand why anyone would purchase a built-in PANEL READY fridge that is designed to stand proud of your cabinetry and expose its industrial hinges on each side. There is no application for this panel ready fridge that would look professional and intentional. After spending 40 minutes on hold with KitchenAid, I was further transferred to the 'built-in appliance' department, where their rep spent another 30 minutes trying to convince me that it was indeed designed to be flush with the cabinets and that it was an installation problem. We agreed what flush meant - integrated at same level as cabinets. Having already explored our options with our cabinet maker and installation teams and further reviewing the installation documents, it was mind-blowing that she was insisting on information that was not correct. Finally, after being told repeatedly that it was an installation problem and being put on hold again, she returned to say 'yes, the panels on this model do sit proud of the adjacent cabinetry'. A huge waste of time and a customer service issue. My actual question was now that we have this totally disappointing fridge, where the custom panels will not integrate with the cabinets, can we replace the door to standard stainless steel since they do sit proud. No, you can not. I am so disappointed in this product and the misleading description on the KitchenAid website. I am further disappointed in the lack of customer service and time wasted speaking to their rep. I would avoid this fridge at all costs.

    First one Lasted 20 years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We owned this model refrigerator for 20 years and when it failed we did not want to modify the cabinets so we purchased it again. Hopefully the new one works for 20 years too. The first one had a single door and we purchased a French door style. I think we prefer the single door. Additionally the doors spring squeaks something terrible after just 2 months. The instructions do not say, but there is a stop block at the top door hinge to limit the degrees of the door swing so it does not hit the cabinets or counter-top. The doors dent very easily so it is important to set these blocks right away. The "professional" installers had no idea about the door swing restrictors. I had to figure it out myself.

    DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE

Very expensive fridge and it's awful. The drawers are very cheap, they don't slide well, or close well, you can tell it's not quality made. Just like everyone else, while the website description says the LED lights last a very long time, less than 4 years and half the lights don't work. Based on the other reviews, it seems like the lights not working is a common issue that they won't fix. Unfortunately, you also can't easily replace the lights yourself, you need a technician to come and fix it, of course, an added cost to the customer.

    Owner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I had bought just the regular refrigerator instead of this built in (the only reason I purchased the built in was to replace the built in that was came with our home). on the positive side, the old builtin had apparently lasted for over 20 years; however, I do not anticipate that this newer one will last that long. This refrigerator does NOT seem to have as much space as the older model and the interior appears to be much "dimmer" (i.e., not well lighted, in my opinion). This model does not have a compartment designed for butter (no compartment has a cover that the older model did have). The freezer section in this newer model seems much smaller than the older model, and it too seems not well lighted. I would do further research if I had to buy again.

    Poor quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poor quality control. The evaporator is leaking water inside. Just is a sign of time maximizing profit over pride in craftsmanship. My first kitchen aid refrigerator that was replaced lasted 25 years. This is another Boeing story about American manufacturing. Trying to get it fixed.

    Extraordinary space in refrigerator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator 1 month ago to replace another KitchenAid refrigerator of the same dimensions (side by side with water/ice dispenser in freezer door), which was 20 years old. We like the large storage in the refrigerator and convenience of a freezer drawer. One issue we have is there is not water dispenser in the refrigerator, which is no big deal as we have reverse osmosis faucet in the sink. The refrigerator looks great with the oak panel doors to match our cabinetry that were installed. The unit seems to be commercial grade, which should imply a long life.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this fridge to replace existing built in as I did not want to have to mess with changing or modifying surrounding kitchen cabinets. Price was ridiculously high for such a small unit with basic features

This has been so stressful!!!

I have had my refrigerator for less than a year and a couple of bins have broken. And that is not the worst part but I can't find replacement parts. It disappointing what I have spent on this refrigerator and can't find these parts have only owned it for 8 months
